Chronic Fatigue - Treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Individuals who are diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome suffer from extended periods of severe fatigue for at least six months. They often feel very weak doing basic daily tasks that most of us accomplish without even thinking about it. Imagine becoming exhausted just taking a shower in the morning.

There are a variety of symptoms in addition to the fatigue that an individual may experience. They include joint pain, sore throat, fever, trouble focusing, memory problems, and occasionally blurred vision.

Getting a proper diagnosis for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome can be difficult because there is no standardized medical assessment or routine test that can positively identify it. Most doctors come to this diagnosis after successfully eliminating many other possibilities first. There are a variety of medications used to treat Chronic Fatigue but not everyone responds well to them. There is no known cure for the disability so for now the focus is on getting people the right treatment for their needs.

Many individuals become frustrated with the time and money involved in trying to get a proper diagnosis from the medical community. As a result they look for cost effective alternatives including herbs. The results from individuals who use such home remedies for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are very good but these items haven't been approved by the FDA yet.

Many individuals hold the view that the herbs and nutritional supplements they have tried for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome offered them substantially more relieve than prescription medications. They don't care that these methods are not approved by the controlling agency; they simply want to use what makes them feel better. You can't blame them for that!

Regardless of the treatment option you feel is right for you, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a serious illness. You should continue to seek medical attention and have your doctor monitor your progress. This is very true because many people who suffer from the Syndrome also have other medical problems that need to be addressed as well. You don't want to ignore other medical issues because they can cause your situation to get worse.
